There’s no end in sight for Valeant’s (VRX) hostile takeover of Allergan (AGN)–but Sterne Agee’s Shibani Malhotra doesn’t see much downside regardless of the outcome. Malhotra explains:
BloombergWhile we do not anticipate near-term resolution regarding Valeant's hostile bid, we continue to see limited downside risk for shareholders as it is clear that Valeant is determined to acquire Allergan, and if required, is willing to increase its bid even further. In addition, we are confident that Allergan management will either generate a strategy to drive greater value than a merger will deliver, or will negotiate a better price with Valeant.
Shares of Allergan have gained 2.1% to $171.02 at 1:51 p.m. today, while Valeant has risen 1% to $132.58.
